LIGONIER VALLEY SCHOOLS TO REMAIN CLOSED TODAY AS MOLD REMEDIATION CONTINUES

Ligonier Valley Schools will remain closed today as air quality testing and mold remediation continues at the district buildings.  The Trib reports that Servpro has started more cleaning efforts at R.K. Mellon Elementary School in Ligonier.  Once that is finished, air quality testing will take place.  Meanwhile, all four of the other buildings had air quality testing done out of an abundance of caution.  The schools will not reopen to the district’s 1,400 students until the consultant has reviewed the test results and offers his professional judgment the buildings are safe to be reopened, according to Superintendent Matthew Mols in a letter to the district community.
