HEMPFIELD FAMILY ASKS PENNDOT TO DO MORE TO PREVENT CRASHES IN FRONT OF THEIR HOME

A Hempfield family is asking PennDOT to do more to prevent crashes at their home near an exit ramp.  KDKA-TV reports that Kristy Harvey and her family have been asking for a long time for assistance as they have had to deal with people crashing on the property near the Cedar Street exit of Route 30.  They said in 2024 alone, they had at least 18 crashes there.  PennDOT has put in signs for 15 miles an hour in that area and a high-friction coating with arrows on it, but it has had little effect.  The homeowners said that they want to see guardrails installed to protect their property
