WESTMORELAND COUNTY TRANSIT AUTHORITY LOOKING TO SWITCH TO PROPANE-POWERED VEHICLES

The Westmoreland County Transit Authority is looking into a switch to propane-powered vehicles.  The agency could go to the alternative fuel for the 60 passenger vans used for its senior shared-ride program.  Executive Director Alan Blahovec says the move could save up to 700-thousand dollars per year.  The plan is in its early stages as administrators research details.
