FORMER STATE TROOPER ORDERED TO SERVE PROBATION FOR HOME DEPOT THEFTS

A former State Trooper was ordered to serve two years of probation for stealing from two Home Depot stores.  The Trib reports that 60-year-old John Tamewitz of Penn Township entered guilty pleas last month to three counts each of retail theft and theft by deception.  On three occasions in 2024, he would take stickers from online orders he picked up at Hempfield and Wilkins, put the stickers on other merchandise, and took the items without paying for it.
