ATTORNEY FOR NEW KEN MAN ASKS FOR DELAY IN START OF TRIAL

The attorney for a New Kensington man charged with killing his 9-year-old son is asking for a delay in the start of the trial to allow the defense team more time to prepare its case.  The Trib reports that 44-year-old Jean Charles is accused of the strangulation death of his son Azuree four years ago.  He reportedly hid the body under lawn furniture.  The case had been delayed twice before, and this time, the defense team says they need more time to complete investigations required as part of the case where the death penalty is being sought.  Prosecutors did not object to the delay.
