ALLEGHENY COUNTY MAN CHARGED WITH STALKING AT INDEPENDENCE HEALTH SYSTEM BUILDING PLEADS GUILT

An Allegheny County man charged with stalking at Independence Health System’s building in Greensburg pleaded guilty to lesser charges on Wednesday in Westmoreland County Court.  The Trib reports that 30-year-old Christopher Nagy was not prosecuted on charges of felony aggravated assault but was ordered to serve two years of probation, including six months of house arrest for charges of stalking and defiant trespass.  Police said Nagy stormed into the hospital’s Medical Commons No. 3 building on April 13 with the intent to stalk an employee he said was his fiancée.  He was confronted by hospital staff before he moved to another restricted area.  Authorities said Nagy’s actions triggered a panic alarm response from security officers.  During his probation, Nagy must continue his mental health treatments.
