Delmont’s Apple’n Arts Festival is getting ready for its run this weekend despite the fact that apple supplies being low this year. The Trib reports that the frost earlier this year hampered crops. The Trib reports that about 1/3rd fewer apples are available this year after the early spring freeze hit crops hard, and apples had to be secured from Lancaster. This has caused prices for a gallon of cider to go up from $8 to $10. The festival runs tomorrow and Sunday. at Shields Farm in Delmont.
