MONROEVILLE FIREFIGHTER FACES CHARGES AFTER DEADLY CRASH

A Monroeville firefighter faces charges after a deadly crash in Monroeville this year.  WTAE-TV reports that 88-year-old Leroy Hart died days after a crash last October at the intersection of Haymaker and McGinley roads.  Authorities said Hart tried to turn onto McGinley Road when he was hit by the vehicle driven by Broderick Balanti, who was reportedly going 71 miles an hour at the time of the collision.  Balanti was reportedly responding to a fire call in his personal vehicle.  Balanti is facing charges of homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving.
