The leader of the Diocese of Greensburg is asking everyone to pray for Pope Leo the 14th. The pontiff underwent surgery to remove a lobe from his right lung after a biopsy on a nodule tested positive for adenocarcinoma, a common type of lung cancer. The Vatican says Tuesday’s surgery lasted 90-minutes and was successful. It’s unclear, at this point, whether Pope Leo will undergo further treatment. Prior to the surgery, Bishop Larry Kulick asked the members of the diocese to pray for the Pope as he continues his recovery.
