A Delmont woman will serve up to 63 years in prison for the death of her adopted son. The Trib reports that 37-year-old Lauren Maloberti was sentenced Thursday in Westmoreland County Court. Prosecutors contended that she physically and mentally abused her adopted son Landon, who died in early February of 2023 after he was hospitalized with over 100 injuries, including catastrophic brain trauma. Judge Scott Mears imposed consecutive sentences in most of the charges because, in part, because he said evidence showed Maloberti directed hostility toward Landon, delayed seeking treatment for him and misled medical professionals trying to treat him.
