WESTERN PA ROCK LEGEND DONNIE IRIS DIES

Western PA Rock musician Donnie Iris died Monday at the age of 83.  Iris first had success with the Jaggerz as “The Rapper” hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970.  After leaving the Jaggerz, he went on to form Donnie Iris and the Cruisers, who had modest success with songs like “Ah, Leah” and “Love is like a rock”.  His last concert with the band was in September at the Citizens Bank at the Wylie concert venue in Pittsburgh, saying it would be his last due to health issues.  In 2022, he announced he had bladder cancer.
