Accessibility upgrades at the Amtrak station in Latrobe are now a year behind schedule. The Trib reports the project will not be finished until Fall of 2027. Amtrak blames the delay on the nearby active Norfolk Southern Railroad Tracks, forcing crews to move equipment as trains approach. The upgrades include a new concrete passenger platform, improved lighting, accessible walkways, new stairs and updated signs. Amtrak warns some amenities and services remain limited during construction.
