The Westmoreland County Development Authority will assist a proposed asphalt plant in East Huntingdon as they get $10 million in bond financing. The Trib reports that the board will enter into an agreement with Wells Fargo Equipment Finance at the request of Sand Hill Materials. The controversial project has drawn concerns from residents and business owners in the area who have unsuccessfully tried to convince the board to reject the financing request. Preparation work is underway at the site, which is between the Westec and Mt. Pleasant exits on Route 119.
