The first phase of a terminal expansion project at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport is almost finished, as the hub remains without a commercial carrier. Westmoreland County Airport Authority Executive Director Maurice Haas says the current construction on the overall plan to double the size of the terminal should be done by the end of the month. Palmer has not had any commercial service since Spirit Airlines was abruptly shuttered in May. Haas says the airport authority is hoping to secure a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation that would help attract a new airline.
