Allegheny Township must return $25,000 in state grant money due to an accounting snafu. The Trib reports that Township Manager Marci Bigley said there was a total of $150,000 in grant money from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for the years of 2018, 2019 and 2020 that were not completely accounted for. Officials said former township management did not close out the grants. After looking for receipts, Bigley said they were able to close out almost all the grants except for $25,000 from 2018 and 2019 that the township must return.
