GREENSBURG MAN SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS IN STATE PRISON

A Greensburg man was sentenced to up to 14 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a young girl multiple times.  The Trib reports that 28-year-old John Schmidt-Short pleaded guilty this week felony counts related to sexual assault, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and other crimes for multiple incidents that started in the late summer of 2024.  He was charged after a ChildLine report was made to Greensburg Police.  Along with the prison time, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
