Some residents in Springdale are speaking out against a statewide skill games ban that could take effect next week. The owner of Springdale Skills organized the demonstration outside the establishment yesterday. Back in June, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that skill games fall into the category of slot machines, meaning they cannot be legally operated outside of casinos. This policy change will take effect Tuesday of next week without any intervention from the PA House and Senate. Those who attended yesterday’s protest in Springdale say they want state lawmakers to extend the grace period for skill games until sensible regulations can be adopted.
