KIDNAPPING CHARGES DISMISSED AGAINST SCOTTDALE MAN

Kidnapping charges were dismissed against a Scottdale man in connection with an incident in October of 2025.  The Trib reports that the victim did not want to proceed with charges against 30-year-old Shawn Michael Prince.  Last October, borough police were notified that a woman had not been seen for a few days after a domestic dispute, and police found her after she contacted them and said she was kidnapped and taken to a wooded area.  Prince last month pleaded guilty to two other cases and was ordered to serve up to 23 months in jail and seven years of probation for a domestic incident and for fleeing police in January.
