Westmoreland County DA Nicole Zicarelli has determined that an officer was justified when he shot at an armed robbery suspect last month in North Huntingdon. The Trib reports that the incident took place at the Walgreens on Magill Drive during an alleged armed robbery. When police arrived, the suspect, Sean Lane, was in the parking lot and was holding a revolver wrapped in a shirt. Police told Lane to drop the weapon and get on the ground, but Lane uncovered the gun and pointed it at the officers before shots were fired. The DA said that the officers faced immediate threat of serious bodily injury or death. Meanwhile, Lane remains in Westmoreland County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of robbery, terroristic threats and other crimes.
