DELMONT WOMAN TO BE SENTENCED TODAY IN CONNECTION WITH ADOPTED SON’S DEATH

A candlelight vigil was held last night in memory of five-year-old Landon Maloberti as his adoptive mother is set to be sentenced today in connection with his death.  The Trib reports that a jury in May convicted Lauren Maloberti of third-degree murder, child endangerment and other crimes in connection with Landon’s beating death in 2023.  Prosecutors are seeking consecutive sentences that could keep Maloberti behind bars for decades, while defense attorneys asked for additional time to prepare arguments against the maximum penalty.
