Westmoreland County Election officials have announced that 157 voters have received duplicate ballots in error. The Trib reports that the duplicates were due to a communication error between state officials and county election staff, and those voters were contacted and ordered to destroy one of the ballots. The bureau learned about the duplicates earlier this week when the office was contacted by a voter who received multiple ballots, prompting the full-scale review. All ballots returned from those voters who received duplicates will be segregated at the courthouse in Greensburg and reviewed again before they are counted to ensure just one ballot from each voter is tallied.
